Canned Sardines

Canned Sardines from Thailand

SPG coordinates canned sardine sourcing for distributors, retailers and private-label importers. Presentation and recipe depend on the producer, including sardines in tomato sauce and other approved packing media.

Typical applications and buyers

  • Sardines in tomato sauce and other factory-available recipes
  • Retail easy-open or standard cans
  • Printed cartons and OEM packaging where offered

Key parameters to specify

Recipe is the part buyers most often assume rather than specify. Sauce formulation, ingredient declaration and can format differ between factories, and each one changes both the label and the producers able to run it.

  1. Fish species
  2. Sauce or packing medium
  3. Net and drained weight
  4. Can format
  5. Carton count
  6. Label language
  7. Shelf life
  8. Required certificates
  9. Target quantity and destination
Halal certification mark of the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand

Halal certification

Canned sardines can be supplied with Halal certification issued by the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand, where the producing cannery holds a valid certificate for the product. For canned seafood the certificate covers the packing media and the processing line as well as the fish, so a tomato sauce or oil pack is confirmed on its own terms rather than inherited from another product on the same list. Certification is held by the cannery, not by SPG, and applies to that facility and product. Tell us if Halal documentation is required and we will confirm availability before an offer is made.

Quality and export documentation

Product specifications, production-lot certificates of analysis, food-safety certificates, Halal documentation where applicable, origin documents, the commercial invoice and the packing list can be reviewed or coordinated, subject to the supplier, the shipment and the importing market. Certification is held by the producing facility, not by SPG.

Frequently asked questions

Can you make sardines under a private label?

OEM production may be arranged, subject to factory minimum order quantity, recipe approval and packaging approval.

Are all sardines packed in tomato sauce?

No. Tomato sauce is the most common presentation, but available recipes vary by factory. State the recipe and ingredient declaration your market requires.

Do you offer easy-open cans?

Can format depends on the producer and the order specification. Confirm whether easy-open is a requirement, since it limits which production lines can be used.
