Key parameters to specify
An edible oil is bought on its refined quality and its packaging, and the two are settled together. Free fatty acid, colour, moisture and peroxide value describe the refining; bottle or drum format, labelling language and shelf life at destination decide what can actually be sold there. Send both, and note that food-grade oil is a different regulatory product from a feed ingredient — the destination market treats it as food.

Food safety and quality documentation
Quality and food-safety documentation can be provided according to the product, production lot and shipment requirements. Testing and documentation may cover:

- Heavy metals — including lead, arsenic and other applicable parameters.

Halal certification
Refined rice bran oil can be supplied with Halal certification issued by the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand, where the producing refinery holds a valid certificate for the product. Because this is an edible oil, Halal status covers the refining and packing facility as well as any processing aids used. Certification is held by the producer, not by SPG, and applies to that facility and product. Tell us if Halal documentation is required and we will confirm availability before an offer is made.

Specification, packaging and shelf life
Figures are not published here because refining grade and packing differ between refineries and between production runs. The specification that counts is the one on the producer’s offer and the certificate of analysis for your lot. Confirm the shelf life you need on arrival before packing is fixed — for a bottled edible oil that constrains the production date as much as the transit time does.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the rice bran you supply for feed?
No. Rice bran is the raw milling co-product supplied as a feed ingredient. Refined rice bran oil is the edible oil extracted from that bran and then refined for human consumption, and it is a different product commercially, in documentation and in how the destination market regulates it. Defatted rice bran is what remains after the oil is extracted.
Why choose rice bran oil over other cooking oils?
Buyers usually cite its high smoke point, which suits commercial frying, its neutral taste, and its naturally occurring oryzanol. Whether it fits your product depends on your application and your label claims, so tell us what you are formulating for.
Can you supply Halal-certified oil?
Where the producing refinery holds a valid Halal certificate for the product, yes, and the documentation is provided with the shipment. We confirm the certificate and its validity before making an offer rather than assuming it, since it is the producer’s certification and not ours.
Do you supply bottled retail packs or bulk?
Both are possible subject to the refinery’s minimum run. Bottled retail and private-label packs bring in labelling rules for the destination market, so confirm the mandatory declarations and label language with your importer before artwork is printed.
What specification should I send with my enquiry?
At minimum the refining grade, your FFA and colour limits, packaging format and monthly volume. Add oryzanol content, peroxide value and shelf life if your product or label depends on them. That is enough to establish whether a refinery can meet it before anything is priced.
